Study more classic verses to learn the Chinese culture

 

Chinese culture has a long history and is broad as well as profound.  The spirit of Chinese culture often emerges through the literary classic works.  According to Wenxin diaolong,

“The classics are works that serve as a model, with authority and enduring. The words are concise, with deep insights to educate and inspire.”

 

The goal of the Chinese language & literature curriculum is to let students “be exposed to Chinese culture and nurture their feelings towards our nation and races” through learning the Chinese language & literature. 

 

Chinese culture is the precious legacy of our sages.  The philosophy behind the classic verses needs to be practiced in everyday life. Through introspection and reflection we will understand its meaning. Let’s inherit this legacy and be cultured modern people, steeped in traditional Chinese culture!

Chinese classics contains much wisdom and training from ancients, including various values like “filial piety, loyalty, honesty, etiquette and integrity”.  Through reciting classics, children could easily become a cultured person with high morals.
